This school year, we’ve studied the art of John Constable, John James Audubon, one other artist whose name I can’t even recall right now, and Georgia O’Keeffe. I’ve always been a fan of O’Keeffe’s flowers, but learning about her life, including her “pineapple painting” experience in Hawaii, was very interesting.
Here are the girls and me channeling our inner O’Keeffes. Jasmine was really concerned about painting the red poppy exactly as O’Keeffe painted it, and she even asked me which colors did I think the artist used first. On the other hand, Callie just wanted to paint something abstract! Farrah wasn’t into the project at all and rushed through hers so she could have time to paint something that she found more interesting. And Olivia used the most time and precision working with hers.
