I’ve had friends come and go over the past decade, but one has stuck with me for the past 14 years and is now my new best friend. It’s my old crockpot, to which I should probably give a name. Any suggestions?
Ray and I received this crockpot as a wedding gift 14 years ago, and I have determined that using her 2-3 times a week is going to be what helps me stay on track during this school year. This week was Olivia’s and Farrah’s first week of school, and our crockpot days – red beans and rice one day and cabbage with ham-hocks another – made our evenings (of Girl Scouts, library visit, ballet classes, and a neighborhood hike) a lot smoother than usual. I’m so happy to have her in my life again!
So… about that first week of school. Let’s just say things didn’t go exactly as planned, and there might have been a few tears shed (and not just by the kids!). Oh, here’s the official BTS photo:
Jasmine began her first day of PreK this week too. She has already made a sweet new friend (Berklee), and you would think the two girls have been friends for life! By Wednesday at noon, they were already holding hands and making sleepover plans. (By Wednesday evening, Jasmine had already forgotten her friend’s name, LOL).
