I’ve lost precious school notes and photos on my phone. It completely died on me last week (new phone arrives this week), so I’ll post here more regularly as to not lose so many photos at once!
I’m fortunate to still have our Thanksgiving pictures. We were planning to trip to New Orleans when Ray and I realized that neither of us was in a condition to drive. He recently injured his arm, and I can’t drive for more than a couple hours on a highway without getting extreme back/neck pain as well as tunnel vision. Our old age is catching up with us! So, much to the girls’ disappointment, we spent the holiday in town. We even forewent the traditional Thanksgiving get-together that my sister and her family hosts each year. And… for the first time in years, it was Thanksgiving with just the immediate family.
We pulled it off! Our menu: ham, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, macaroni & cheese, rolls, and gumbo. Of course there were desserts – several pies plus a made-at-home chocolate cake. We actually had our Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Eve, which left us the next day to just relax.
