This might look like more photos from the Texas Renaissance Festival, but it isn’t! Last weekend we visited Dickens on the Strand in Galveston, and it was such a lovely time, even lovelier than the Ren Fest. I remember my parents would get a babysitter for us kids so they could attend this festival each year, and I’m pleased to have finally experienced it myself. We got there early in the day, took a break for lunch and then to Moody Gardens – and returned for more festivities. There were fun singing & musical groups, circus acts, shops and eateries (more funnel cakes!), parades, and lots of lovely Victorian dresses and suits. We even witnessed a real wedding! I’m thinking this definitely needs to become an annual tradition for us. My heart was full! I wish I were around during these old times!
