Our field trip to WaterWorks Education Center with the Homeschool BFF group was surprisingly fun and very educational! The facility exists as a means of educating citizens of all ages to conserve our drinking water resources and protect the environment. I, for one, was quite inspired, and I hope the girls were too. We learned a lot about how the city of Houston gets drinking water, and of course we learned about water conservation and water pollution.

WaterWorks is located near Lake Houston, so it was a good drive for us, but the hands-on activities and interactive exhibits made it worthwhile. The group enjoyed an auditorium presentation, a scavenger hunt, and a group discussion (facilitated by WaterWorks staff). We topped off our morning with a picnic lunch and games with friends at Gene Green Park.
