I’m sorry to write, but our kitty didn’t make it. It pains me to write about it, and I don’t know what the root cause was, but she got sick quickly, and when we took her into emergency care, they felt as though she wouldn’t make it and offered to give her a humane euthanasia. I think Ray and I took it harder than the girls. We were quite fond of that kitty, already. Jasmine had gotten quite attached too, but at her age it’s “out of sight, out of mind”, so she hasn’t mentioned the kitten since we’ve been home. I was very grateful at how well the older girls have been coping. This is NOT the lesson I wanted them to experience this summer, but some things we have no control over.
I pulled out watercolor paints as therapy.
