Last weekend we surprised the girls with a quick getaway to Galveston. School begins in less than a week, and we were long overdue for some playtime. What fun we had! We explored the Aquarium and 3-D “Pangaea” movie at Moody Gardens, we swam and enjoyed the wave pool and lazy river at Palm Beach, we road surreys along the Seawall, ate at several yummy restaurants, had fun thrills at Pleasure Pier, and visited the Children’s Museum of Galveston!

We stayed overnight at Moody Gardens Hotel, and the staff treated us to goody bags and evening s’mores. I can’t wait to visit Galveston again. It’s a lot of fun to have close to home.

School kicks in again on Monday, and what do you know, we have one more “vacation” to squeeze in before then. We’re hitting the road to San Antonio early tomorrow. We’ll stay for 2 nights and use our free Six Flags Fiesta Texas tickets (we earned them as part of their Read to Succeed Program for homeschoolers).
