Last year we used the video/audio curriculum La Clase Divertida 1, and this year we’re using Year 2 of the same curriculum. It’s a lot of fun and the girls are learning quite a bit of Spanish. The problem is we’re not practicing consistently enough, so my goal for this semester is to practice Spanish daily.
Last year Olivia also had a private tutor via Skype through the program Homeschool Spanish Academy. I was pleased with the lessons, but when baby Jasmine was born I became forgetful and we missed several lessons (without canceling them in time, so it was money down the drain). We plan to pick it back up in mid-September, however.
Additionally, this week was Olivia’s first Spanish class at Mrs. Ester’s house. It’s a small group of 4 girls, and they’re learning some great practical conversational Spanish. Here’s a picture if them playing Go Fish, using their Spanish phrases.
